Near & Next is led by Sylvain Cottong, an economist and futures practitioner with nearly 30 years of experience advising organisations across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

His work combines strategic foresight, futures literacy, systems thinking, and organisational transformation to help clients navigate uncertainty, broaden strategic options, and build long-term resilience.

Sylvain has worked with national and international organisations, facilitated workshops and strategic processes, and spoken at conferences in different countries.
My story
After many years in management consulting, I specialised in strategic foresight and futures literacy and founded Near & Next as a dedicated advisory in foresight and futures literacy.
Near & Next is a brand of StrategyBuilders sàrl, a Luxembourg-based limited liability company (RCS; B231601)
I hold several certifications in futures studies and draw on an international network of experienced futurists and specialists when projects require additional expertise.
Languages and ways of working
I work fluently in English, French, German, and Luxembourgish.
